On behalf of the East African Community Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency in cooperation with the Partner States Civil Aviation Authorities, we are thrilled to invite you to the 4th EAC Aviation Symposium 2018.
This year, the meeting will be held from 1st – 2nd February 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya with a theme of “Aviation Safety – A Collaborative Approach”. As a valuable member of our Aviation Fraternity, we would like to invite you to be a part of our Aviation Symposium and participate in an event that celebrates entities that have helped in the safe development of Aviation in the East African region.
Specific topics will reflect regional strategies for safety management as a collaborative approach. The Agency derives its mandate from Article 92 of the EAC Treaty which in summary states that the Partner States shall undertake to make air transport services safe, efficient and profitable; adopt common policies for the development of civil air transport in the region; harmonise civil aviation rules and regulations and coordinate measures and co-operate in the maintenance of high security.
Pursuant to Article 92 of the Treaty, the principal objectives of the Agency as stated in the EAC Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency Act 2009 (section 4) are as follows. The functions of CASSOA are set out in section 5 of the same act.
