Office of the Executive Director
The Executive Director is appointed by the Council on recommendation of the CASSOA Board and on such terms and conditions as the Council determines. The office is filled on a competitive basis under the principle of rotation among the Partner States.
A person appointed to the office of the Executive Director holds office for a non-renewable term of five years, and the Executive Director is the chief spokesperson of the Agency and the principal liaison between the Partner States and the Agency. The Executive Director is responsible to the Board.
Mr. Mtesigwa Maugo was the founding Executive Director of CASSOA in 2007. He was succeeded by Mr. Barry Kashambo in 2012.
