CAA Inspectors get FAA Surveillance Training
17th October 2018. EAC CASSOA and Federal Aviation Administration organized a seven days Surveillance Training in Entebbe – Uganda. The training was attended by Inspectors from Civil Aviation Authorities in the region. Mr Carlos Agueda and Gary Ask from FAA Academy were the Instructors for this Training.
The course was in line with ICAO Requirement under Annexes 6 & 19 and docs 9734, 8335, 9760 and 9859. Course objectives were to;
- understand CAAs International Obligations under ICAO
- use a system safety concept to identify hazards and manage risk
- apply decision making techniques, and risk management & communication
- define work functions and inspection requirements under a surveillance program
The students were trained on 8 modules which involved group and individual exercises, students had opportunity to share experience with FAA Trainers and among themselves. ED CASSOA, Mr Emile Arao officiated the graduation ceremony of all 15 students and issued FAA Surveillance training certificate.
The Agency extends its appreciation to FAA Academy and all the Partner States for nominating and releasing participants to attend the FAA Surveillance Training. It was yet another opportunity for participants from Partner States to share their experiences and acquire knowledge together
