Seamless Skies: Efficient Facilitation for a Connected World

03rd March 2025. The ICAO Facilitation Regional Forum took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from March 3rd to 4th, 2025, under the theme “Seamless Skies: Efficient Facilitation for a Connected World.” The Agency was represented by Mr. Philbert Bakilana, the Principal Aviation Security Officer (PASO).

Representing the ED CASSOA, PASO served as a speaker in Session 5, which focused on Capacity Building and Implementation Support for States. The session covered key topics such as technical assistance for States, capacity-building initiatives led by ICAO, RSOOs, and other stakeholders, as well as the need to enhance regulatory capacity and operational capabilities. Discussions also underscored the significance of international cooperation and regional collaboration to optimize resource sharing, leverage expertise, and address common challenges.

In this context, PASO highlighted the Agency’s commitment to supporting its eight (8) EAC Member States through capacity-building initiatives, while also fostering cooperation and collaboration among States in resource sharing and mutual support.
