About the Principal Aeronautical Meteorology Inspector at the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority

Mr. John Mfungo is an Environmental and Meteorologist currently serving as the Principal Aeronautical Meteorology Inspector at the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA). with a wealth of experience spanning over 19 years, he has demonstrated expertise in teaching, leadership, weather forecast, and implementing compliance with ICAO Annex 3 through safety oversight of Aeronautical Meteorology Service for air Navigation. 
Prior to his current role, Mr. Mfungo held key positions in various organizations, including Education Officer II at Ministry of Education, Pangani-Tanga and Meteorologist II at Tanzania Meteorological Authority Head Quarter, Ubungo Dar es Salaam.   
Mr. Mfungo holds a B.Sc. (HONS) Meteorology from the University of Pretoria (UP) –South Africa (2012), B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences and Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA)- Tanzania (2008), and a Diploma in Education from Dar es Salaam Teachers’ College (2000).
Actively engaged in the industry, he serves as a State Focal Point for Environment representing TCAA In CASSOA, AFCAC and ICAO, Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and Action Plan for Emission and Reduction (APER).
Mr. Mfungo is an expert in Safety Oversight Management and Practical Preparation for ICAO USOAPCMA - (Incheon Aviation Academy-South Korea).
