About Chief Investigator of Aircraft Accidents

Mr Redemptus Peter Bugomola holds a MSc degree in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, UK. His experience in aviation dates back some 33 years when he started working as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer after graduating from the East African Civil Aviation Academy, Soroti, Uganda.

In 1990 he joined the then Air Tanzania Corporation as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer until 2003 when he joined the National Institute of Transport as an assistant Tutor giving lectures in Air Transport Management and Technology. In 2005 he joined the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority as a Senior Personnel Licensing Officer then a Senior Airworthiness Inspector, the post he held until his appointment as Director Safety Regulation in May 2015.

His work experience also includes working as an Aviation Safety Expert in
Mozambique and Zambia between June 2011 and December 2013.In December 2020 Mr Bugomola was transferred from the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority to the then Ministry of Works and Transport now the Ministry of Transport for the post of Chief Investigator of Aircraft Accidents, the post is holding to date.

Mr. Bugomola is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a Certified Director by the Institute of Directors Tanzania and a member of the Board of Directors of Tanzania Railways Corporation.
