About the Head of Legal Department
Ms. Brenda Ntihinyurwa is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in aviation law, regional integration, and international relations. Holding key positions at the East African Community (EAC) for over a decade, and now currently serving as the Head of the Legal Department at the EAC Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency, she has made significant contributions to the harmonisation of aviation laws and policies in the East African Community. Ms. Ntihinyurwa's expertise encompasses providing legal advice, harmonisation of aviation legislation, and implementing the ICAO Legal Work Programme in the EAC. Her academic background includes a Master of Laws in International Trade from the University of Cape Town, Post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Certificate in International Air Law (ICAO), and a Certificate in ICAO USOAP CMA Phase 1 and 2 (LEG/ORG)- enhancing her proficiency in aviation law , economic law and commercial arbitration.
